It depends upon what style you’re looking for. If you don’t like Docs but like how they look, I can recommend Solovair, which are classic Docs, made in the original factory, and to a much higher standard. There’s a lot of military surplus websites that have almost brand new black boots in various different styles for far less than they should be, but if you want something formal, you could look into Viberg, Chippewa or Dayton for very American styling. There’s so many it’s quite overwhelming, but make sure it has a high quality welt and the sole isn’t glued on.
